Babingtonite Visible Spectra (380 - 1500 nm)
Babintonite appears black in bulk, but is dark green when thin. Its
color
comes from the intervalence charge transfer interaction between Fe2+
and Fe3+. Ca2(Fe,Mn)FeSi5O14(OH)
