Coalingite Visible Spectra (350 - 1050 nm)
The coalingite
absorption spectrum. Mg10Fe3+2(OH)24[CO3]
· 2H2O
- CIT-18584 spectrum;
from the New Idria serpentinite, San Benito County,
California, a thin 7.8 micrometer thick unpolarized sample. The intense
color of
this material
comes from the its Fe3+ ion that pairwise interact with
each other to enhance normally weak ferric iron absorption bands.
