Metavoltine Visible Spectra (300 - 1200 nm)

A synthetic compound related to metavoltine, K5Fe2+[(H2O)3(SO4)6Fe3O]·7H2O, that contains isolated triangular-planar Fe3O units found in metvoltine.
The coordination environment is completed by water molecules trans to the central oxide ion (Thich et al, 1980)

Metavoltine structure

It is red-brown when polarized E\\a and greenish-yellow when polarized E\\c
