Ringwoodite Visible Spectra (350 - 1050 nm)

Ringwoodite, ideally, Mg2SiO4is well known as a synthetic mineral and also has been found as a naturally occuring phase. It often has a blue color as seen in this synthetic ringwoodite, sample SZ9901 from Smyth et al. (2003).  The color comes from Fe2+-Fe3+ intervalence charge transfer.
