from Rush Creek, California, USA, 0.010 mm thick sample. The intense
orange
color of this material comes from the Fe2+ - Ti4+
intervalence charge transfer and showns a major change in intensity for
different polarization directions. When thin, it is orange when
polarized
parallel to the chains of cations and colorless when perpendicular to
