• CIT 6848 spectrum, 4K; from Rush Creek, California, USA, 0.010 mm thick sample. The intense orange color of this material comes from the Fe²⁺ - Ti⁴⁺ intervalence charge transfer and showns a major change in intensity for different polarization directions. When thin, it is orange when polarized parallel to the chains of cations and colorless when perpendicular to them.; Data Files: E||a 3K; E||b 4K; E||c 8K
